Education
Dr. Makinde completed medical school at the University
of Ibadan College of Medicine. She completed her
residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the
Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso,
Texas after completing her residency in Obstetrics and
Gynecology in the United Kingdom.
Board Certifications
Dr. Makinde is board certified by the American Board
of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a Fellow of the
American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Personal
Dr. Makinde is married and has three children.
Education:
Tonnette obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing from Hinds Community College in 2009 and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 2012. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Jackson State University (2006). she went back to the University of South Alabama to become a Nurse Practitioner. In December 2018, she graduated with her Master’s Degree in Nursing and became a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society of Nursing. Subsequently, she obtained her board certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
Board Certifications:
Tonnette Black is our board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. As a Nurse Practitioner, Tonnette is able to see pregnant patients, perform gynecologic exams (including well-woman exams), and see patients with urgent problems.
Personal:
Tonnette has been married for over 10 years. When she is not at the office, Tonnette enjoys being a mom to her three children who keep her very busy.
